Penguins To Host Valparaiso on Senior Day

The Youngstown State men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be in action against Valparaiso on Saturday at the Beeghly Natatorium. It will be the Senior Day meet for the women's program.
YSU will honor seniors Taylor Bishop, Rhianna Acosta, Paris Krug, Tiphaine Saint-Gilles prior to the dual against the Crusaders.
Acosta is a native of San Antonio, Texas, and an Exercise Science major at YSU. After she graduates from YSU, her plan is to become an Occupational Therapist. In her career, she has mainly competed in the IM and the butterfly for the Penguins. She has three top 20 finishes for the Guins at the Horizon League Meet in her career.
Bishop is a native of Austin, Texas, and a Business Administration major at YSU. After she graduates, she plans to open a gun business with her twin sister. She has a pair of top-10 finishes at the Horizon League Championships highlighted by an eighth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle at the 2018 league meet. In her career, she has seven top-20 finishes at the conference meet.
Krug is a native of Leechburg, Pa., and a Special Education major at YSU. She plans on becoming an Applied Behavior Analyst upon her graduation. In her career, she has mainly competed in the freestyle and the backstroke for the Penguins. She has three top 20 finishes for the Guins at the Horizon League Meet in her career.
Saint-Gilles is a native of Dijon, France, and is a Marketing and Sales Management major at YSU. Upon graduation, she wants to pursue an MBA at Youngstown State. She ranks second in school history in the 200-yard breaststroke and is third in the 100-yard breaststroke. In her career, she has three top-10 finishes at the Horizon League Championships.
The Penguins were last in action on Oct. 25 when they competed against Ball State. Freshman Audrey Whitaker won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle against the Cardinals. She had a time of 53.81 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle and 1:56.52 in the 200-yard freestyle. Aida Jurinovics picked up a victory for the Penguins in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.80.
