
Whitaker Wins Pair of Events In Dual With Ball State

Freshman Aubrey Whitaker won a pair of events for the women's swimming and diving team on Friday in a dual meet against Ball State at the Beeghly Natatorium.
Whitaker won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle against the Cardinals. She had a time of 53.81 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle and 1:56.52 in the 200-yard freestyle. Aida Jurinovics picked up a victory for the Penguins in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:06.80.
In the 1,000-yard freesytle, Taylor Bishop was third with a time of 11:03.19. Josie Preski finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.77. Casey Prentice took second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.63 seconds and was second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.80 seconds.
Jurinovics added a second-place finish in the 500-yard freetyle with a time of 5:13.18.
In the diving events, Tess Weiskopf placed second with a score of 231.98 in the one-meter dive.
Ball State won the dual by a score of 211-88.
The Penguins return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they play host to Valparaiso.
