Penguins Win All Six Singles Matches Against Wright State

The Youngstown State women's tennis team won all six singles matches, including two in three sets, as the Penguins defeated Wright State 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at the YSU Tennis Courts.
The Penguins improve to 4-10 overall and 2-0 in the Horizon League with win. YSU has now 13 straight regular-season league matches. Wright State falls to 13-5 and 1-2.
The Raiders picked up the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, but the Penguins came back strong in singles play.
Dominika Lackova, Noelly Nsimba, Nehel Sahni and Ana Stroe all won in straight sets for YSU while Annina Brendel and Sofia Macias won their matches in three sets.
At No. 1, Lackova won 7-5, 6-4 over Linsey Verstrepen. At No. 2, Brendel won a 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 contest against Elaine Cloern. At No. 3, Nsmiba picked up a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Tori Turner. Macias earned a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 victory over Taylor Culbertson at No. 4. At No. 5, Sahni won 6-3, 6-4 over Vanessa Madrigal and at No. 6, Stroe defeated Aby Madrigal 6-3, 6-2.
Wright State's Cloern and Megan Brdicka defeated Sahni and Nsimba 6-4 at No. 2 doubles while the Raiders' Verstepen and Vanessa Madrigal won 6-3 at No. 3 over Lackova and Julianna Heino.
The Penguins return to action next Saturday when they visit Detroit.
