Penguins Drop California Trip Opener at Cal State Northridge

Northridge, Calif. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Cal State Northridge on Monday afternoon at the Matador Tennis Complex.
The Penguins dropped close singles matches at No. 1 and No. 6 singles to CSUN (8-0).
At No. 1, Dominika Lackova suffered a 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 setback to Vivian Lin while at No. 6, Sofia Macias Mendoza lost 7-6 (7), 4-3 (8) to Jessica Warren.
The Matadors won the other four singles matches in straight sets.
In doubles play, Mendoza and Nehel Sahni partnered up for an 8-5 win at No. 1 over Lin and Kiryang Kim. CSUN won at No. 2 and No. 3 to claim the point.
The Penguins (5-7) will be in action on Tuesday at UC Riverside. The dual match is set to start at 1:30 p.m.
