
Lackova Earns Victory as Penguins Fall to Buffalo

Buffalo, N.Y. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Buffalo on Saturday afternoon at the Miller Tennis Center. Dominika Lackova won at No. 1 for the Penguins.
Playing with just four players after a late home match against Toledo on Friday, the Penguins (5-6) lost the doubles point the Bulls (2-3).
In the contested singles matches, Lackova, who was playing in the No. 1 spot for the first time in her YSU career, defeated Tanja Stojanovska by a 6-4, 7-6 (5) score. At No. 2, Annina Brendel had her winning streak snapped losing 7-5, 6-2 to Margarita Kotok.
At No. 3, Nehel Sahni dropped a 6-4, 6-0 decision to Laura Fernandez and at No. 4, Sofia Mendoza lost 6-1, 6-4 to Laura Holterbosch.
The Penguins are next in action on March 9 when they play a pair of matches in California.
