Penguins Drop Sunday Night Match at Ball State

Muncie, Ind. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Ball State on Sunday at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
The Penguins (2-2) defeated IPFW earlier in the day in Fort Wayne before capping off a busy Sunday against the Cardinals in Muncie.
YSU earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Marta Burak and Dominika Lackova beat BSU's Bethany Moore and Courtney Wild by a 6-4 score at No. 1. At No. 2, Nehel Sahni and Annina Brendel defeated Courtney Earnest and Olivia Large also by a 6-4 margin.
In singles play, Ball State (2-1) won four matches to earn the dual victory.
Burak picked up a 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 over Wild, Brendel beat Toni Ormond at No. 3, 6-4, 6-4 for YSU's singles victories.
The Penguins are back at home on Wednesday when they play host to Akron. The match will start at 1 p.m. at the Boardman Tennis Center.
