Game Preview
• The Youngstown State men's basketball team hosts Wright State in its Horizon League home opener, Thursday, Jan. 8, at the Beeghly Center.

About Wright State
• Wright State enters the week with a 9-6 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the Horizon League.
• JT Yoho leads the Raiders with 17 points and seven rebounds per game.
• He ranks sixth in scoring and tied for fifth in rebounding in the Horizon League.
• Joe Thomasson is also in double figures with 11.8 points per game.
The Wright Series
• This is the the 50th meeting between Youngstown State and Wright State in a series that dates back to 1977.
• The Raiders own a 39-10 advantage in the all time series, but the team have split the last six contests.
• Last year, the Penguins defeated the Raiders, 68-67, in the Beeghly Center, but lost 77-67 at the Nutter Center.
• The Penguins have won the last three meetings against the Raiders in the Beeghly Center.
Last Time Out
• The Penguins are coming off a tough 79-64 loss to Valparaiso on Jan. 4 at the Athletics-Recreation Center.
• Senior DJ Cole and junior Bobby Hain each had 13 points to lead the Penguins against the Crusaders.

• With 826 career points, junior Bobby Hain needs just 174 more to become the 36th YSU player to score 1,000 points in a career.

• Three members of the YSU men's basketball team are among the national leaders in several categories.
• Sophomore Marcus Keene ranks fourth nationally with 52 3-pointers made.
• Junior Bobby Hain ranks seventh with 147 total rebounds and 10th in field goals made with 103.
• Senior DJ Cole ranks eighth with 98 total assists.
Penguins Among Scoring Leaders
• Youngstown State has three of the top 12 scorers in the Horizon League.
• Sophomore Marcus Keene ranks seventh in the Horizon League with 16.2 points per game.
• Junior Bobby Hain is eighth with 15.6 points per game and senior Shawn Amiker is 12th with 12. points per game.

• Youngstown State has a great chance of winning when it make 45 percent of its field-goal attempts.

Uniquely Hain
• Junior Bobby Hain is in a class by himself.
• Hain is the only player in the Horizon League averaging at least 15 points (15.6 ppg), eight rebounds (8.6 rpg) and shooting about 50 percent from the field (.523).
• He leads the league in rebounding, ranks third in field-goal percentage and is eighth in scoring.
Cole Approaching Century Mark
• Senior DJ Cole is just two assists shy of reaching 100 this season.
• It will mark the third straight year Cole has been credited with at least 100 assists.
• The last player to post 100 assists in three straight seasons was Kendrick Perry, who accomplished the feat four times from 2010-14.
Vaughn Hitting Stride
• For the third straight game, sophomore Osandai Vaughn posted double figures in scoring.
• Vaughn scored 10 points against Valparaiso on Jan. 4 and had a career scoring high with 18 points against UIC on Jan. 2.
• Over the last three games, Vaughn has scored 38 points.
• In his previous 11 games played, Vaughn scored a total of 15 points.
• Vaughn averaged 12.7 points and five rebounds per game over the three two games.
• He made 12-of-22 field-goal attempts, 3-of-5 3-point shots and 11-of-14 from the free-throw line.
Hain Double the Trouble
• Junior Bobby Hain leads the Horizon League with seven double-doubles.
• He recorded his most recent with a 22-point, 14-rebound effort in a 78-74 win over Northern Kentucky on Dec. 31.
• He has three straight double-doubles.
• It also marked the 16th of his career.
• He turned in a career night on Dec. 17 when he scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed a career-high-tying 17 rebounds against Kennesaw State.
• Hain made 12-of-19 field-goal attempts and eight of his rebounds came on the offensive glass.
• Hain now is averaging 15.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, which is a league-best.
Amiker Stepping Up
• Senior Shawn Amiker is off to great start for the Penguins this season.
• Amiker is averaging 12.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
• He also has three double-doubles and ranks tied for seventh in the Horizon League in rebounding.
Keene Leads Horizon League
• With his 52 3-pointers made, sophomore Marcus Keene leads the Horizon League in that category.
• He is also tied for the league lead with 3.1 3-pointers made per game.
No Cole In DJ's Stocking
• Senior DJ Cole has been one of the most generous point guards in the NCAA and the Horizon League.
• Cole ranks second in the Horizon League with 5.8 assists per game, and ranks sixth nationally with 98 total assists.
• He also ranks sixth all-time at YSU with 366 career assists.
• This season, Cole has dished out at least five assists in a game on 10 different occasions.
• Cole tied a career-high with 12 assists against Longwood and recorded his second career double-double with 18 points.
