Game Preview
• The Youngstown State men's basketball team plays its second of three straight home games when it hosts Valparaiso, Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Beeghly Center.

About Valpariso
• Valparaiso enters the game with a 17-3 overall mark and is tied for second place in the Horizon League with a 4-1 record.
• Leading the Crusaders, who have won four straight, is sophomore Alec Peters.
• Peters is averaging 17.8 points per game and is shooting 46.8 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
• Freshman Tevonn Walker is average 10.5 points per game while junior Darien Walker is posting a 10.2 points per game clip.
The Valpariso Series
• This is the 40th meeting between Youngstown State and Valparaiso in a series that dates back to 1989.
• The Crusaders own a 30-9 advantage in the all-time series and have won the last four contests.
• In the last meeting, the Crusaders won, 79-64, at the Athletics-Recreation Center on Jan. 4, 2015.
• The last time the Penguins defeated the Crusaders was an 80-68 win at the Beeghly Center in 2013.

• The Penguins are coming off a 74-61 loss to Cleveland State on Jan. 17 at the Beeghly Center.
• Sophomore Marcus Keene led four players in scoring double figures with 14 points.

Keene 7th on Single-Season 3-PT List
• Sophomore Marcus Keene has moved into a tie for seventh place on the YSU single-season 3-pointers made chart.
• Keene has made 61 3-pointers this season and need just two more to move into sole possession of fifth place on the list.
• He is just the ninth player in school history to make at least 60 3-pointers in one season.
Uniquely Hain
• Junior Bobby Hain is in a class by himself.
• Hain is the only player in the Horizon League averaging at least 14 points (14.9 ppg), 7.5 rebounds (7.9 rpg) and shooting about 50 percent from the field (.52).
• He is tied for the league lead in rebounding, ranks third in field-goal percentage and is eighth in scoring.
Cole Reaches Century Mark
• With two assists against Wright State on Jan. 8, senior DJ Cole posted 100 assists this season.
• It marked the third straight year Cole has been credited with at least 100 assists.
• The last player to post 100 assists in three straight seasons was Kendrick Perry, who accomplished the feat four times from 2010-14.
• He has 110 assists this season and has 378 for his career.
Vaughn Hitting Stride
• Sophomore Osandai Vaughn has been hitting his stride offensively lately.
• Vaughn scored 11 points against Cleveland State on Jan. 17, 14 points in the loss at Milwaukee on Jan. 14, and he scored 10 points against Green Bay on Jan. 11 and Valparaiso on Jan. 4.
• He had a career scoring high with 18 points against UIC on Jan. 2.
• Over the last seven games, Vaughn has scored 79 points.
• In his previous 11 games played, Vaughn scored a total of 15 points.
• Vaughn averaged 11.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game over the seven games.
Stew's Crew
• Junior Shaun Stewart has been feeling more comfortable from the 3-point line.
• Over the last 10 games, Stewart has made 15-of-36 or 41.7 percent of his 3-point attempts.
• He had made just 11 of his first 47 over the first 11 games of the season.
