Penguins Bounce Back to Beat Green Bay, 7-0

The Youngstown State women's tennis team regrouped quickly following a tough loss on Saturday night to beat Green Bay, 7-0, on Sunday morning at the Boardman Tennis Center.
The Penguins (9-11 overall and 4-2 in the Horizon League) easily won the doubles point and lost just 12 points during the five singles matches that were contested.
In doubles, Marta Burak and Margarita Sadovnikova won 8-2 over Stephanie Londre and Claudia Negron at No. 1 while Carolyn Jesko and Nehel Sahni beat Noel Peck and Carly Van Nuland by an 8-0 scores.
In singles, Sadovnikova rebounded a from a difficult loss to beat Londre by a 6-2, 6-2 count at No. 1. At No. 2, Burak defeated Negron by a 6-1, 6-2 margin. At No. 3, Dominika Lackova defeated Lauren Miketinac by a score of 6-2, 6-2. At No. 4, Annina Brendel picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Can Nuland while at No. 5, senior Gimena Puppo defeated Peck 6-0, 6-0 in her final home match. At No. 6, Carolyn Jesko won by default.
YSU closes out the regular season next weekend with a Friday match at Valparaiso and a Saturday tilt at UIC.
