Penguins Fall to IPFW in Dual

Boardman - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to IPFW on Saturday night at the Boardman Tennis Center. YSU won the doubles point while Marta Burak won in straight sets.
YSU (5-4) earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. At No. 1, Margarita Sadovnikova and Marta Burak won 8-2 over Marcy Huck and Mayu Sato. At No. 2, Annina Brendel and Carolyn Jesko picked up a 8-4 win over Carlotta Trevino and Emily Richardson.
In singles play, the Mastadons (7-6) beat the Penguins at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6.
At No. 2, Burak beat Ella Norgren 6-2, 6-2 for the lone YSU singles win.
Sadovnikova dropped a three-set match at No. 1 to Sato, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 while Nehel Sahni dropped a three-set decision at No. 5 to Huck, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2.
YSU is back in action on Sunday when it visits St. Bonaventure. The dual is set to start at 3 p.m.
