• The Youngstown State men's basketball team makes a quick turnaround and hosts Wilberforce, Friday, Dec. 19, at the Beeghly Center.
• Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m. ET and can be heard on 570 AM WKBN and viewed on ESPN3.com.
• The game is also the second half of a women's and men's basketball doubleheader.
A Win Will
• Give Youngstown State its fourth straight win over Wilberforce.
• Mark YSU's seventh win in the last 10 games.
• Mark Jerry Slocum's 696th career win and his 115th at Youngstown State.
• Mark the 1,049th victory in program history.
• Mark YSU's fourth home win of the season.
• Give the Penguins a 8-6 overall record.
About Wilberforce
• Wilberforce is currently 4-10 on the season and is coming off a 79-64 loss to Grace Bible College on Dec. 13.
• Leading the Bulldogs is Sean Cassidy with 15.5 points per game.
• Devontae Berry is also averaging double figures with 12.8 points per game game, and is second on the team with 6.7 rebounds per contest.
The Wilberforce Series
• This is the just the fourth meeting between Youngstown State and Wilberforce and the first meeting since 2011.
• The Penguins own a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to 1956.
• In the last meeting against Wilberforce, the Penguins were victorious, 86-51, on Jan. 11, 2011.
Last Time Out
• The Penguins are coming off 90-84 loss to Kennesaw State on Dec. 17.
• Junior Bobby Hain recorded his fifth double-double of the season with a career-high 26 points and a career-high-tying 17 rebounds.
• Senior Shawn Amiker scored 21 points with nine rebounds.
• Senior DJ Cole posted 18 points with five assists and sophomore Marcus Keene added 14 points and seven assists.
Slocum In Elite Company
• Youngstown State Head Coach Jerry Slocum ranks among the best in the history of college basketball in terms of overall wins.
• Slocum ranks 37th all-time with 695 career victories eighth among active Division I coaches in all-time wins.
• He is just five wins away from 700 for his career.
• Slocum is also just one of two NCAA Division I head coaches that are in their 40th year as a head coach. The other is Duke's Mike Krzyzewski.
Games Coached
• As of Dec. 18, Youngstown State Head Coach Jerry Slocum ranks third among active NCAA Division I coaches in games coached.
• Slocum, who has coached in 1,194 career games, is behind Duke's Mike Krzyzewski with 1,298 and Syracuse's Jim Boeheim with 1,279.
• Slocum will coach his 1,200th career game against Green Bay on Sunday, Jan. 11.
Hain Hits Highs
• Junior Bobby Hain turned in a career night on Dec. 17 when he scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed a career-high-tying 17 rebounds against Kennesaw State.
• It marked Hain's fifth double-double this season and the 14th of his career.
• Hain made 12-of-19 field-goal attempts and eight of his rebounds came on the offensive glass.
• Hain now is averaging 15 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Keene Leads Horizon League, 4th Nationally
• With his 43 3-pointers made, sophomore Marcus Keene leads the Horizon League in that category and ranks 4th nationally.
No Cole In DJ's Stocking
• Senior DJ Cole has been one of the most generous point guards in the NCAA and the Horizon League.
• Cole ranks second in the Horizon League with 5.7 assists per game, and ranks sixth nationally with 74 total assists.
• He also ranks sixth all-time at YSU with 342career assists.
• This season, Cole has dished out at least five assists in a game on eight different occasions.
