
Men's Basketball Faces UNCG in EMU Showcase Finale

Game Preview
• Youngstown State (2-3) closes out the Eastern Michigan Showcase when it takes on UNCG, Sunday, Nov. 23, at the EMU Convocation Center.
• Tipoff is set for Noon and can be heard on 570 AM WKBN.
• The Penguins defeated Longwood, 82-72, on Nov. 22, and lost to Eastern Michigan, 71-62, on Nov. 21.
A Win Would
• Give Youngstown State its first win over UNCG.
• Mark Jerry Slocum's 691st career win and his 110th at Youngstown State.
• Mark the 1,044th victory in program history.
• Mark YSU's second neutral site win of the season.
• Give the Penguins a 3-3 overall record.
• Mark Youngstown State's second straight win.

• UNCG enters the game with a 1-3 record after falling to Eastern Michigan, 70-62, and Longwood, 81, 79, in overtime.
• UNCG was picked to finish fifth in the Southern Conference picking up 51 total votes.
• UNCG's Tevon Saddler, who was earned Preseason All-SoCon honors, leads the team with 17.3 points per game.
• RJ White is averaging 15.3 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game.

• This is the first meeting between Youngstown State and UNCG.
Last Time Out
• The Penguins are coming off an 82-72 win over Longwood on Nov. 22.
• In the win over Longwood, five players scored in double figures and the Penguins shot 52.6 percent from the field.
• It marked the first times this season the Penguins shot above 40 percent from the floor.
• Senior DJ Cole posted a double-double with 18 points and 12 assists, which tied a career high.
• Senior Shawn Amiker scored 18 points, including 16 in the second half, and junior Bobby Hain recorded his second double-double of the year with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
• Sophomores Jalon Plummer and Marcus Keene scored 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Slocum In Elite Company
• Youngstown State Head Coach Jerry Slocum ranks among the best in the history of college basketball in terms of overall wins.
• Slocum ranks 37th all-time with 690 career victories eighth among active Division I coaches in all-time wins.
• Slocum is also just one of two active NCAA Division I head coaches that are in their 40th year as a head coach. The other is Duke's Mike Krzyzewski.
Games Coached
• As of Nov. 22, Youngstown State Head Coach Jerry Slocum ranks third among active NCAA Division I coaches in games coached.
• Slocum, who has coached in 1,186 career games, is behind Duke's Mike Krzyzewski with 1,293 and Syracuse's Jim Boeheim with 1,272.
Five and Dime
• In the 82-72 win over Longwood, five players scored in double figures.
• Seniors Shawn Amiker and DJ Cole each had 18 points, junior Bobby Hain scored 15, and sophomore Jalon Plummer and Marcus Keene had 13 and 11, respectively.
DJ the Distributor
• Senior point guard DJ Cole continues to impress with his ball distribution.
• Cole 6.6 assists per game and has 33 assists in just five games.
• Cole tied a career-high with 12 assists against Longwood and recorded his second career double-double with 18 points.
Hain Posts Double-Double, Again
• For the second time in five games, junior Bobby Hain record a double-double with 15 points and a season-high 12 rebounds against Longwood on Nov. 22
• It marked the 11th double-double of Hain's career.
Call the Plummer
• For the second straight game, sophomore Jalon Plummer a career-high 13 points in the win over Longwood.
• Plummer also scored 13 against Eastern Michigan.
• In the first three games of the year, Plummer had scored just two points.
Mr. 300
• With 12 assists against Longwood on Nov. 22, senior DJ Cole became the eighth player in school history to record at least 300 assists.
• Cole ranks eighth all-time with 301 assists and needs four more to move into seventh place.
• Cole also ranks fifth career assists in YSU's Division I era.
Keene Hits Career High
• Sophomore Marcus Keene scored a career-high 24 points against Central Michigan on 8-of-15 shooting from the field.
• Keene also made career-best five 3-pointers against the Chippewas,
• The San Antonio, Texas, native scored 22 of his 24 points in the second half against CMU.
Stewart Nets Career High
• Junior Shaun Stewart reached double figures for the first time in his YSU career against Central Michigan on Nov. 18.
• Stewart scored a career-high 14 points, including 3-pointers against the Chippewas.
Hain Posts Career-High, Double-Double
• Junior Bobby Hain recorded his first double-double of the season and the 10th of his career with a career-high 20 points and 11 rebounds against Oberlin on Nov. 16.
• Hain was 6-of-11 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free throw line.
Amiker Notches First Double-Double
• Senior Shawn Amiker posted his first career double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 69-61 loss to Kent State on Nov. 15.
• Amiker connected on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor and made six free throws.
• It was also third 20-point scoring effort of his career.
