Penguins Cap Off Season at Great Lakes Region Championships

Madison, Wis. - The Youngstown State cross country teams concluded their seasons at the Great Lakes Region Championships at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course in Madison on Friday afternoon.
The men placed 21st out of 30 teams with a score of 572 points while the women finished 26th out of 32 squads scoring a 783.
Leading the way for the men was Austin McLean who was 60th in the 10K with an impressive time of 31:29. For the women, McKinsie Klim was the top placer at 127th with a time of 22:36 in the 6K event.
For the men, Nick Gliha was 108th with a time of 32:20, Eric Rupe was 127th at 32:36, Ryan Sullivan finished 136th at 32:45, Jon Hutnyan had a time of 32:51 to place 141st, Jon Richmond was 163rd at 33:17 and Alan Burns was 171st at 33:32.
McLean's time of 31:29 eclipsed the school mark of 31:48 set in a 10K cross country race set by Matt Folk. Gliha's effort was the fourth-fastest time in school history for a 10K race.
For the women, Brittany Stockmaster posted a time of 22:51 to finish 139th, Melissa Klim was 169th at 23:22, Michelle Klim placed 171st at 23:37 and Libby Rogenski posted a time of 23:34 to place 177th.
