Penguins Drop Dual Opener at Bowling Green

Perrysburg, Ohio - The Youngstown State women's tennis team opened dual play with a 6-1 loss to Bowling Green on Sunday at the Perrysburg Tennis Center. Annina Brendel picked up a win at No. 4 singles.
Brendel won in three sets over BGSU's Drew Fillis by scores of 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
Margarita Sadovnikova won her first set handily at 6-1 but dropped the second 7-6 before losing a third-set tiebreaker 10-5 to Nikki Chiricosta in the No. 1 spot.
BGSU's Katie Brozovich topped Dominika Lackova by scores of 6-3 and 6-2 at No. 3. It was the collegiate debut for Lackova.
At No. 2, Marta Burak lost 7-6, 6-1 to Emily Reuland, at No. 5 Nehel Sahni lost 6-3, 6-1 to Harley Hutchinson and at No. 6, Gimena Puppo lost 6-0, 6-3 to Hannah Drayton.
The Falcons won all three doubles matches from the Guins.
The Penguins return to action on Friday when they visit Ohio State.
