Ypsilanti, Mich. - The Youngstown State men's and women's team teams opened action an the Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the hammer throw and 10,000-meter runs on Friday at Rynearson Stadium.
In the hammer throw, Megan Wesner fifth (49.34m), Jennifer Neider sixth (45.38m) for the women while Jacob Chiclowe was 12th with a toss of 38.15 meters.
In the men's 10,000-meter run, Nick Gliha was fourth with a time of 32:12.31. In the women's 10,000m run, Katie Heney posted a time of 40:22.72 and was seventh.
The second day of competition begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the final events in both the decathlon and heptathlon.
