Men's Basketball Set Rebounding Mark in 108-57 Win over Westminster

Five players scored in double figures and the Youngstown State men's basketball team set a school rebounding record in a 108-57 win over Westminster late Saturday morning.
The Penguins improve to 6-1 for the first time since 1994-95 and the Titans fall to 0-4. The win also marks Head Coach Jerry Slocum's 98th win at Youngstown State.
Sophomore Bobby Hain led the Penguins with 16 points and nine rebounds while freshman Marcus Keene scored 15 points and dished out six assists.
Senior Kendrick Perry turned in another well-rounded game with 13 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Freshman Jalon Plummer scored a career-high 11 points with eight rebounds and junior Shawn Amiker added 10 points.
The Penguins, who shot 45.9 percent from the field, set a school mark with 66 rebounds, breaking the old mark of 64 set in 1987. It marks the first time since 2011 that YSU posted at least 60 rebounds in a game. Seven players recorded at least five rebounds.
With 13 points, Perry moved into a tie for 13th on the Youngstown State all-time scoring list with 1,430 career points.
In the first half, the Penguins shot 56.3 percent from the field and jumped out to a 25-5 lead just eight minutes into the game.
The Penguins led by as many as 30 points twice, 37-7, and 42-12, before the Titans trimmed the deficit to 20, 50-30, with 4:12 left in the half.
The Penguins closed out the half on a 13-3 run to regain a 30-point lead, 63-33, at halftime.
In the second half, YSU shot just 38 percent, but outscored the Titans, 45-24.
