The Youngstown State men's basketball team heads back on the road for a pair of games in the State of Wisconsin beginning with a match up against Green Bay, Thursday, Jan. 17. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. EDT and the game can be heard on 570 WKBN-AM and iHeartRadio.
On the Road Again
• The Penguins are the only team in the Horizon Leauge to play four of the first five league contests on the road.
Last Time Out
• The Penguins dropped a 101-60 decision to Detroit on Jan. 10.
• Sophomore DJ Cole scored a career-high 16 points with two rebounds, two assists and two steals.
• Senior Damian Eargle scored 14 points with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Up Next
• The Penguins stay in Wisconsin to take on Milwaukee, Saturday, Jan. 19.

The Green Series
• This is the 33rd meeting between Youngstown State and Green Bay in a series that dates back to 1993.
• The Phoenix own a 24-8 advantage in the all-time series, but the Penguins have won two of the last three contests.
• Last season, the Penguins defeated the Phoenix, 77-47, on Jan. 22 and, 77-60, on Feb. 28, in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament at the Beeghly Center.
• The Phoenix were victorious, 71-65, at the Resch Center on Feb. 14, 2012.
• Youngstown State has not won at the Resch Center since 2003.
Scouting Green Bay
• Green Bay is 8-9 overall and 2-2 in the Horizon League and has won five of its last seven games.
• The Phoenix are also 7-1 at home this season and 0-7 on the road.
• Sophomore Keifer Sykes leads the Phoenix in scoring with 15.6 points per game with 70 assists.
• Junior Alec Brown is averaging 11.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game and Brennan Cougill is averaging 11.5 points per game.

• Sophomore DJ Cole turned in a career performance against Detroit on Jan. 10.
• Cole scored a career-high 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field.
• He also made a career-best eight free throws.
KP Moving Up
• With nine points against Detroit on Jan. 10, junior Kendrick Perry moved into 25th place on the YSU all-time scoring list.
• He needs 13 more to move into 24th place and 29 for 23rd.
• Perry needs 54 more to become the 22nd player in school history to score 1,100 points in a career.
Allen Second With 180
• With one 3-pointer against Detroit, senior Blake Allen became just the second player in school history with 181 career 3-pointers.
• Allen has made 181 career 3's and needs 18 more to break the record of 198.
• The record of 198 was set by Craig Haese from 1997-2001.
• Allen ranks second in the Horizon League with 43 3-pointers made.
Efficient Guins
• Youngstown State has three players ranked in the top 10 in the Horizon League when it comes to field-goal percentage.
• Sophomore Shawn Amiker leads the team and ranks second in the Horizon League the with a .523 field-goal percentage.
• Freshman Bobby Hain is third in the league at .522.
• Senior Damian Eargle ranks seventh with a .481 field-goal percentage.
Perry Among League Leaders
• Junior Kendrick Perry is having an all-league caliber season.
• Perry ranks third in the Horizon League in scoring with 16.0 points per game.
• He also fifth with 4.4 assists per game and ranks sixth with a .851 free-throw percentage.
• Perry is fourth in the Horizon League with 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• He is also tied for fourth with 1.5 steals per game.
Eargle Defensive Production
• Senior Damian Eargle is playing like a defensive player-of-the-year candidate.
• Eargle ranks fifth nationally and leads the Horizon League with 3.5 blocks per game.
• The Youngstown, Ohio, native is second in the league with 6.8 rebounds per game.
• He is also second with 5.2 defensive rebounds per game.
• Against Bowling Green on Dec. 1, Eargle grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds, including 14 defensive boards.
Takin' Care of Business
• The YSU trio of guards of Blake Allen, DJ Cole and Kendrick Perry take care of the ball well.
• Combined, the three have dished out 162 assists compared to just 76 turnovers.
• That works out to an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.1.
• Allen leads the league at 3.6, Perry is fourth at 2.2 and Cole is eighth at 1.6.
More Millennium Man
• Kendrick Perry is just the 16th YSU player to score at least 1,000 points before his senior year.
• He became the 14th player to reach the mark during his junior season.
• Perry is just the sixth Division I junior to score 1,000 points at YSU.
• He also became just the 15th player since YSU joined Division I to score at least 1,000 career points.
• The last player to accomplish the feat was Vytas Sulskis (2007-11).
• The last junior to reach 1,000 points was Quin Humphrey in 2005-06.
Allen Among Nation's Best
• Senior Blake Allen is one of the country's best guards regarding assist-to-turnover ratio.
• Allen leads the Horizon League and ranks 10th nationally with a 3.6 assist-to-turnover mark.
• He has 50 assists and just 14 turnovers in 15 games.
• His averages are 3.1 assists and 0.9 turnovers per game.
• Allen also ranks 10th in the Horizon League in assists per game.
Two More Searching for 1,000
• With junior Kendrick Perry becoming the 33rd YSU player to score 1,000 points, seniors Blake Allen and Damian Eargle are trying to become the 34th and 35th players to match that feat.
• Eargle needs 119 more points while and Allen is 214 away.
• Eargle has scored 1,149 points in his college career, but 268 were at UNC-Greensboro.
• The last time two YSU players scored 1,000 career points in the same season was in 2000-01 when Desmond Harrison and Craig Haese reached the plateau.
Eargle's Block Party
• Senior Damian Eargle already owns the YSU and Horizon League career blocks records with 262.
• Eargle has recorded a block in 18 straight games dating back to last season.
• He has also blocked at least one shot in 46 of the last 48 games.
• In his 77-game career at YSU, Eargle has tallied a block in 72 contests.
• Eargle also leads the Horizon League with 132career blocks in league-games only.
