Casey Hill Finishes Second in One-Meter Diving at Day Two

Brown Deer, Wis. -- Youngstown State junior diver Casey Hill finished second in the one-meter dive on the second day of action at the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships at the Schroeder Aquatic Center.
Hill finished with a total of 265.55 in the finals and was the runnerup to Cleveland State's Kacey Cummings who won with a 270.90. Sophomore Jackie Smith placed an impressive fifth with a score of 231.75. Tricia Vallinger was 10th with a 245.85 and Breanne Horrigan placed 12th with a 229.75.
Senior Nishani Cicilson finished ninth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.77 seconds to eclipse her own school record of 23.82.
Senior Kirstin Walker finished 13th in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:09.73.
In the 400-yard medley relay, Ashley Dow's backstroke lead off on the relay by setting a school record with a time of 55.76 seconds. The group of Dow, Samantha Roberts, Laura Paz and Cicilson broke the school mare in the event with a 4:48.76 to finish fifth.
In the team race, YSU stands in sixth following two days, but is is just 11.5 points behind fifth-place Wright State. The Penguins have 145 points while the Raiders have 156.5 points. Milwaukee holds a narrow 295 to 287 lead over Cleveland State entering Friday's action.
Events on Friday include the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and 800-yard freestyle relay.
