YSU Concludes Three Duals in Three Days Stretch

The Youngstown State women's tennis team completed a busy three days by dropping a 6-1 decision at Cincinnati on Monday. YSU suffered a 5-2 loss at Butler on Saturday and dropped a 5-2 decision at Wright State on Sunday. All three matches were on the road.
Sophomore Margarita Sadovnikova led the way with three singles wins.
Against the Bearcats on Monday, Sadovnikova earned a hard-fought three-set win. Sadovnikova beat UC's Ksenia Slynko 2-6, 7-6 (10-8), 10-8. In doubles action, sisters Carolyn and Annie Jesko won 8-3 over Carly Wilson and Lindsey Lonergan.
Against the Raiders on Sunday, the Guins jumped on top by winning the doubles point. YSU won at No. 1 as Sadovnikova and Karolina Sjokvist beat Kenisha Webb and Masha Peresetsky 8-4 while the Jesko's beat Lizzy Clark and Amy Nini 8-4.
In singles play, Sadovnikova won 6-3, 6-1 over Kayla Tuscany while Sjokvist dropped a hard-fought three-set decision at No. 3, dropping the third set in a tiebreaker.
Against the Bulldogs on Saturday, Sadovnikova knocked off Natali Jaimes 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 action. Sjokvist picked up a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Gabriella Bobrowski.
YSU returns to action on Friday when they play host to Horizon League leader Cleveland State.
