Box Score Green Bay, Wis. -- The Youngstown State women's basketball team fell 84-25 at No. 21/17 Green Bay on Saturday afternoon at the Kress Events Center.
Green Bay scored the first 26 points of the game and led 49-8 at halftime.
The Penguins missed their first 13 shots from the field and two free throws before a Brandi Brown 3-pointer with 8:07 remaining accounted for their first points. Tieara Jones hit a runner a minute later, but the Guins went scoreless for almost six more minutes before Brown hit a field goal.
Brown finished with 15 points and eight rebounds for YSU. Bojana Dimitrov was next in line with four points, which all came in the final four minutes.
Celeste Hoewisch scored a game-high 20 points in 24 minutes for Green Bay, which improved to 22-1 and 11-0 in Horizon League play. She had 14 points in the first half, and Julie Wojta had 13 of her 17 points in the opening period.
Green Bay shot 51.7 percent from the field while Youngstown State shot 20.9 percent. Green Bay held a 44-25 edge on the glass.
Youngstown State will head back home for two games next week. The Penguins will welcome Butler to Beeghly Center on Thursday at 7 p.m.
