Hundelt Paces Volleyball to 3-1 Win at Chicago State

Chicago -- Behind 23 kills from sophomore Missy Hundelt, the Youngstown State volleyball team defeated Chicago State 18-25, 25-21, 25-23, 26-24 on Saturday afternoon at the Jacoby Dickens Center.
Freshman Alexis Egler added 15 kills, and Jackie Carlisle had 11 kills with just one error. Shannon Watson had 10 kills on a .421 attack percentage.
Rachel Levitt had 16 kills, and Alexandra Mason was part of nine of Chicago State's 14 team blocks.
Chicago State trailed only 1-0 in the first set and led by as many as nine in its 25-18 win. The Cougars hit .433 and have blocks in the set.
Egler's seven kills paced the Penguins in the second set. Chicago State led 11-9 before YSU went on an 11-3 run, during which Egler had five kills.
Chicago State led 23-22 in the third set after back-to-back solo blocks, but YSU scored the final three points for the win. Hundelt tied the match with a kill, and a Levitt error and Egler kill ended th set.
The Cougars then had three set points in the fourth set before the Penguins scored the final five points of the match. Hundelt had a kill at 24-21 to start the run, and Casey D'Ambrose and Watson followed with a block. An ace by Egler tied the score at 24, and Hundelt closed out the match with back-to-back kills.
YSU will play its final four matches of the regular season at Beeghly Center. The Penguins will host Valparaiso on Friday at 7 p.m.
