Butler Turns Momentum in Second Set, Wins 3-1 Over YSU

Youngstown -- Butler staved off three set points in the second set and carried the momentum to a four-set win over the Youngstown State volleyball team - 21-25, 31-29, 25-22, 25-15 - on Friday evening at Beeghly Center.
Youngstown State won the first set 25-21 and led 7-1 early and 24-22 late in the second set. Butler scored three straight points, and Youngstown State had another chance to close out the match at 27-26 before Butler ended the set at 31-29.
Butler hit .364 in the third set to win 25-22, and the Bulldogs led the entire fourth set on route to a 25-15 win.
YSU sophomore Jackie Carlisle (Hubbard, Ohio) led all players with 22 kills, and Butler's Kelly Kyle was next in line with 14. The Bulldogs had 14 blocks as a team, including 13 in the final three sets.
Missy Hundelt (St. Charles, Mo.) added 13 kills and 16 digs, and Shannon Watson had five blocks. Maureen Bamiro chipped in with 11 kills and six blocks for Butler.
Youngstown State will have a quick turnaround and play host to Wright State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
