Penguins Come Up Short Against Valparaiso in Straight Sets

Youngstown -- Youngstown
State and Valparaiso battled through 14 ties and five lead changes
before the Crusaders continued their hot streak with a 3-0 (25-18,
25-20, 25-17) victory over the Penguins on Friday evening.
Ebony Barbosa had nine kills, 10 digs and
two blocks to score a team-high 10.5 points for Youngstown State.
Ruth Boscaljon had six kills and six blocks while Allison Heinz had
six kills and five blocks in her third start over the past four
games.
Heinz also hit a team-best .400 for YSU,
which held a 12-5 advantage in blocks.
Angie Porché had 14 kills and 10
digs, and Val Bollenbacher had 12 kills. Valpo hit .270 as a team
despite YSU's blocks.
The Penguins will play host to Butler on
Saturday at 4 p.m.
