Youngstown State University

Shamus Brandon joined the Youngstown State Sports Medicine family in August 2025 as a staff athletic trainer working primarily with the Penguins’ men’s basketball and women's bowling programs.

Prior to Youngstown State, Brandon worked at Texas Southern University as the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine, providing care for the men’s basketball, softball, bowling and golf programs. He also worked with the women’s basketball and women’s soccer teams during his time at Texas Southern. Before his time in college athletics, Brandon worked as a contract athletic trainer for the Athletic Orthopedic Knee Clinic. 

Brandon earned a Bachelor of Science in athletic training from Sam Houston State University in 2021.
