Rebecca Fink, a former Youngstown State student-athlete on the women's soccer team, serves as YSU's Senior Woman Administrator and as the Deputy Athletic Director for Internal Operations. She has been a member of the department since August 2017.
Fink has broad oversight of the NCAA compliance, student-athlete conduct, academic areas and various student-athlete experience initiatives in the department. She is also the sport supervisor for the women's basketball and baseball programs, and she she manages the department's sport supervision team. Additionally, Fink is the compliance liaison for the men's basketball, women's basketball and soccer teams.
Before taking the role at her alma mater, she was part of the Oakland University compliance staff from April 2016 to July 21. As a compliance coordinator, she handled the day-to-day compliance matters and assists with monitoring financial aid and ensuring eligibility for student-athletes with NCAA, Horizon League and Oakland University rules.
Prior to Oakland she worked in the Youngstown State compliance office from 2015-16. There she monitored all aspects of the National Letter-of-Intent program, athletic aid cancelations and renewal process, FAFSA requirements, cost of attendance limitations, maximizing equivalency limits per sport and approving all institutional and outside aid. Fink worked with the Penguins' nationally-ranked football program, making sure all NCAA rules were met. She also created a Student-Athlete Life after School presentation
She earned her master's degree in sports management from California University of Pennsylvania and earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Youngstown State in 2015. Fink was a member of the women's soccer team from 2012-14.
