Miles Bergner serves as the Youngstown State's Manager of Athletic Facilities and Programs. Bergner, a former Missouri Valley Football Conference student-athlete, joined the YSU Athletic Department in May 2022.

Before joining the Penguins' staff, he spent two years as a Conversion Coordinator for the Wake Forest Athletics Department. He assisted with design, planning, and construction of setups for various events, including basketball, concerts, and galas hosted at the 14,665-seat Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. He also provided gameday operations assistance for the Demon Deacons' football and basketball programs.

A native of Longmont, Colo., he spent a year-and-a-half as a Graduate Assistant/Event Manager at his alma mater, the University of South Dakota. In his role for the Coyotes, he acted as the event manager for men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, and swimming & diving while performing numerous facility duties.

Additionally, he worked as a stage electrician, stagehand and event technician at various facilities throughout his home state.

Bergner was a standout punter and placekicker at South Dakota from 2013-16. For the Yotes, he became the first player in the 32-year history of Valley Football to be named both a first-team All-MVFC punter and first-team All-MVFC placekicker in 2016. Following a season average of 47.5 yards per punt, he was tabbed the top FCS punter by all five All-America publications (AP, AFCA, Walter Camp Football Foundation, STATS, Hero Sports). As a placekicker, he set the school record for career points with 276 and 56 field goals made.

Following his USD career, he spent time with the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns organizations. He kicked on the Indoor Football circuit playing for the Colorado Crush (2017), Sioux Falls Storm (2018 and 2019).

Bergner earned his degree in Theatre Technology & Design from South Dakota before receiving has Master's in Kinesiology & Sport Management in August 2019.
