Youngstown State University

Michaela DeSantis joined the Youngstown State Sports Medicine family in November 2022 as a staff athletic trainer. She primarily works with the football and women's golf programs.

Prior to Youngstown State, DeSantis, worked at Eastern Illinois University providing care for the football and tennis programs. DeSantis also had experience working with the softball, volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving, and women’s soccer programs during her time at Eastern Illinois.

DeSantis received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Mercyhurst University in 2016. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Exercise Science from Eastern Illinois University in 2018. DeSantis’ professional interests include student-athlete mental health, emergency planning and management, as well as injury rehabilitation.
