Elyssa Imler, a two-time All-Horizon League selection and the 2024 Horizon League Player of the Year, is in her first season as a graduate assistant coach with the Youngstown State softball program.
Imler, who helped the Penguins to the 2021 and 2024 Horizon League Regular-Season Championships, was named Horizon League Player of the Year and All-Horizon League First Team in 2024.
That season, she led the Penguins with a .340 batting average with 36 runs scored, 51 hits, 21 RBIs, 10 doubles, a home run, and 14 stolen base. Imler also hit .444 with 16 runs, 32 hits, five doubles, a home run, and 15 RBIs against Horizon League foes.
In her first full season as the starting shortstop, Imler earned All-Horizon League Second-Team honors in 2023.
She finished the year with a .290 batting average with 10 doubles, which ranked second on the team, 26 runs, 19 RBIs and recorded 36 hits.
She appeared in 178 games and made 160 starts during her career and posted a .294 career batting average with 26 doubles, four home runs and 61 RBIs.
Imler graduated from Youngstown State in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.
