Barbara Flinn was appointed Youngstown State's newest Faculty Athletics Representative in June 2023. She shares the role with Dr. Chet Cooper in working to ensure that YSU's student-athletes maintain excellence in the classroom while experiencing success in athletic competition.

Flinn has a passion for the academic and personal welfare of YSU's student-athletes. She is a two-time graduate of Youngstown State University, and her family has been deeply involved in athletics throughout the Youngstown area for decades.

Flinn is an instructor in YSU's English and World Languages department where she coordinates the University's Composition Program. She began her professional time at Youngstown State as an adjunct faculty member in 2016, and she became the Composition Program Coordinator in May 2022.
