Youngstown State University

Austin Baker joined the Youngstown State Sports Medicine family in February 2026 as a staff athletic trainer, working primarily with YSU's track and field and cross country programs.

Prior to Youngstown State, Baker worked at Hubbard Action Physical Therapy, providing dry needling treatment at the clinic as well as rehabilitating athletes at area high schools.

Baker is a Youngstown State alumnus, earning his Bachelor of of Exercise Science in 2022 and his Master of Athletic Training in 2023. Baker’s professional interests include therapeutic intervention, injury prevention and the mental health and overall wellness of student-athletes.

In his free time, Baker enjoys spending time with his wife, Alyssa, adventuring with his two dogs and playing fetch with his cat.
