Andrew Gerchak joined the Youngstown State Sports Medicine family in June 2026 as a staff athletic trainer working primarily with the YSU baseball and cheer programs.

Before joining the Penguins Sports Medicine staff in a full-time role, Gerchak was a student in the Master of Athletic Training program, working with both the Penguins football and baseball programs. He also worked with student-athletes at Canfield High School and New Castle High School during his time as a graduate student.

Gerchak received his Bachelor of Exercise Science from Youngstown State University in May 2024, and his Master of Athletic Training in May 2026. His professional interests include rehabilitation and patient-reported outcomes. In his free time, Gerchak enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, attending sporting events and staying in touch with members of his athletic training class.
