More about Courtney:
Why I chose YSU: I chose YSU because I loved the feel of the campus. As soon as I visited here it felt like a second home. When I met my soon to be teammates, they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel so welcome. I also loved the mascots we have: Pete and Penny. You can’t find a cuter college mascot anywhere!
Best thing about Coach Miklos: He always loves to get dessert! I have a very big sweet-tooth so anytime chocolate or ice-cream is offered I’m first in line. On a more serious note, Coach cares about more than our performance on the golf course; he cares about us as people.
Best thing about being a Penguin golfer: The best thing about being a Penguin golfer is getting the opportunity to represent this university. We get to visit a lot of awesome places along the way, make unforgettable memories and play our sport.
Best thing about going to YSU: The best thing about attending YSU is all of the experiences I have had here. There are so many great organizations that the campus has to offer from FCA to Student Government. There are so many ways to be involved and to express your voice.
At 150 yards, I pull out my: 7 iron…depending on conditions, of course.
My favorite club: My driver because I can hit it further than most guys can..and straighter.
My favorite golf course: Tobacco Road Golf Club (Sanford, North Carolina).
Favorite golfer: Jordan Spieth, the favorite golfer of every young female in the U.S.
Golf supersistions/rituals: I don’t really have any, but I do pray before every tournament round.
Person I would love to play a round of golf with: My grandpa. Even though he passed, I know he’d be so proud of how far I’ve come.
My greatest sports moment: Being a part of winning the conference in 2015. It was such an unforgettable experience and one I will always cherish.
Best career competitive round: Definitely my last round at the Horizon League Championships, especially the first nine holes (34). It was so effortless and I was super pumped up. Although it wasn't my lowest round, it was my best and the one I enjoyed most.
Hobbies: Reading, watching Netflix, listening to music and hanging out with my hamster.
Post-college plans: I plan on going to medical school after college to become a doctor of osteopathic medicine and finally own a dog.
