2023-24 (Junior): Became YSU’s first bowler to earn First-Team All-America honors by the National Tenpin Coaches Association… Also named to the NTCA’s All-Central Region First Team and to the All-Conference USA First Team… Earned Youngstown State’s Female Athlete of the Year award, joining former teammate Emma Wrenn as the only two bowlers in program history to earn the honor… Academically, was named to the National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic Team, the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District… Earned Conference USA’s Bowler of the Month Award for January… Led the country in strike percentage at 57.35 percent to receive the NTCA’s National Statistical Leader Award… That mark also set the school record… Set the school record for overall frame average with 21.08 pins per frame, and she shattered the previous school standard for Baker frame average at 21.31 - the record heading into the season was 20.37… Averaged 207.28 per game in traditional play, which was the third-highest average in school history and a career high… Broke 200 26 times in her 47 traditional games… Shot a 299, the highest individual game in school history, against Norfolk State at the Northeast Classic (Jan. 20)… She became the first Penguin to throw the front 11 in a game… Named the MVP at Destination Orlando as she anchored the Penguins on their tournament championship run… She averaged 23.22 pins per frame in Baker, which ranks second in school history… Captured the individual title at the Northeast Classic when she shot 1,202, which was a school record for highest five-game set at the time… Averaged 22.86 pins per frame overall at the tournament, which is the second-highest rate in school history… Followed that with a second-place finish at the PVAMU Invitational to earn all-tournament honors when she broke the school record for a six-game set with a 1,372… Bowled in the fourth spot in the lineup as the Penguins shot the second Baker 300 game in program history against Fairleigh Dickinson at the Hawk Classic on Nov. 17, 2023… The Penguins went on to shoot 1,323 against the Knights and threw 28 consecutive strikes over a stretch when they shot 279, 300 and 286 over the final three games... That was the second-highest set in any format in NCAA history… Was in the third spot in the lineup when YSU shot 299 in a Baker match two days later… Had a mark in 86.23 percent of her frames, which was the second-best mark in school history.
Summer 2023: Earned a bronze medal in trios at the Youth Pan American Championship as a member of Team Canada in July 2023… Competing in the Under 21 category at the Pan American games in Lima, Peru, Cote averaged 204.33 over six games in the trios format to help Canada to the bronze medal… She also had fourth-place finishes in the team and doubles formats… Averaged 224.83, which was the highest in the entire field of bowlers, in the team event, and she averaged 202.67 in doubles… For the tournament, Cote averaged 204.13 to finish fifth overall.
2022-23 (Sophomore): Named to the Southland Bowling League Academic Honor Roll... Bowled in 52 team games and knocked down 10,031 pins for an average of 192.90... Broke 200 21 times, and her highest game of 258 came against Adelphi at the Dezy Strong Classic... Placed sixth at Adelphi to earn all-tournament team honors... Her other top-25 finish came on the opening weekend of the season when she placed 16th at the MOTIV Penguin Classic... Led the Penguins with 848 Baker frames, and she averaged 20.25 pins per frame in the format... Primarily bowled in the leadoff position, but her biggest moment of the season came from the anchor spot in the lineup at the Southland Bowling League Championship... With the Penguins trailing 3-1 in the best-of-seven round of an elimination match against Vanderbilt, she doubled in the 10th in a one-pin victory in game five, and she struck on all three of her attempts in game six to force game seven... In the 10th frame of game seven, she converted the 6-7-10 split to help YSU finish up a 195-179 victory... Overall, she averaged 19.89 pins per frame in her 1,368 total frames... Struck on 49.27 percent of her attempts... Converted 67.29% of her spares, and she had a mark in 83.41% of her opportunities.
2021-22 (Freshman): Voted to National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Rookie First Team and the All-Southland Rookie Team… Earned All-Academic Team accolades from the NTCA and the Southland… Set a new school record by averaging 205.13 over 47 traditional games… Also broke the previous school mark for strike percentage by striking on 51.92 percent of her attempts… Topped 200 in 27 of her 47 games, and bowled a season-best 258 against Central Missouri at the Big Red Invitational (2/26)… That 258 game was part of a 1,128 set, which was the highest five-game series in program history… She also set the school record for tournament average with a 225.60 average in Nebraska… Occupied the fourth spot in the lineup when YSU bowled its first-ever 300 game in a Baker match against Valparaiso (2/25)… Registered three top-10 finishes during the season, placing eighth at the Dezy Strong Classic, sixth at the PVAMU Invitational and 10th at the Big Red Invitational… Averaged 202.00 at the Southland Bowling League Championship and a team-best 216.67 at the NCAA Lansing Regional… Bowled in 757 Baker frames and averaged 19.99 pins per frame in the format… Overall, averaged 20.19 pins per frame, which is the second-best mark in program history… For the year, posted the school-record 51.92 strike percentage, converted 62.24 percent of her spare attempts and marked 83.55 percent of the time.
Team Canada: Was added to the Team Canada Adult Women's Bowling squad for 2022 by the Canadian Tenpin Federation.
Before YSU: Was a highly-accomplished youth bowler in Canada, and she was selected to compete in the 2020 World Youth Championships as a member of Junior Team Canada... Was the Youth Bowl Canada National Champion in 2014 and 2016-19 and the runner-up in 2015... Additionally, was the Quebec Provincial Champion in 2014-16 and 2019 and the runner-up at the Canada Youth Championships three times... Had the most gold medals in Canada’s history for a youth bowler with 10, and she bowled two 300 games and posted a high series of 748... Outside of bowling, was is a three-time player of the year for her volleyball team at Ecole Jean-Jacques Bertrand... Coached a junior varsity volleyball team, and she was also the quarterback of the flag football team at her high school.
Personal: Parents are Maxime and Geneviève... Has a sister (Megan)... Major is general studies... Was the 2022-23 recipient of the Ralph and Phyllis DeMain Memorial Scholarship endowment... Was the 2023-24 recipient of the Drs. Dianne B. & Michael J. Miladore Scholarship... Is a 2024-25 recipient of the Lester F. Donnell Scholarships.
