Biography

2013 Outdoor (Senior): Finished sixth in the javelin with a throw of 48.96 meters at the Horizon League Championships...longest toss was a throw of 51.91 meters at Ashland Alumni Open.

2012 (Junior) | Game-By-Game Stats: Set a new school record by pitching in 32 games... Went 1-2 with a 5.07 ERA in 55 innings... Struck out 52 batters while walking 24, and opponents hit .293 off of him... In Horizon League games, went 1-2 with a 2.45 ERA in 33 innings... Posted 24 strikeouts and 11 walks in conference contests... Allowed six runs in five innings in the Horizon League Tournament... Tied for the league lead in appearances and ranked sixth in the circuit in strikeouts... Did not allow an earned run in 16 of his appearances... Surrendered just two home runs in his 55 innings - one in his first appearance and one in his final appearance... Earned his win against UIC on April 29 when he struck out a season-high five batters in 2 2/3 innings... Pitched a season-long three innings on four occasions and did not allow an earned run each time... Struck out four batters and allowed three hits in three shutout innings against LIU Brooklyn (2/26)... Allowed one unearned run on one hit in three innings against Milwaukee (3/16)... Held Butler scoreless on three hits in three innings (3/30)... Struck out one and allowed one hit to the Bulldogs in three shutout innings (5/6)... Struck out five batters in two innings against Akron (3/27).

2011 (Sophomore) | Game-By-Game Stats: Pitched in 22 games, seven of which he started... Went 4-9 with a 5.29 ERA in 63.0 innings... Struck out 49 hitters while walking 30, and opposing batters hit .329 off of him... Also recorded a save... Was 3-5 with a 4.56 ERA, 20 strikeouts and nine walks in 25.2 innings of conference play... Was 2-1 with a save and a 2.81 ERA at home... Shifted to the bullpen after making a start in April... Had a 3.58 ERA in 15 relief appearances... Named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 21 after holding East Carolina scoreless over six innings... Allowed three hits and four walks while striking out seven against the Pirates... Earned the win at Cincinnati, holding the Bearcats to one run on five hits while striking out eight in six innings... Earned the win in relief at Butler, throwing 0.2 scoreless innings (4/9)... Picked up his save in game one of the doubleheader against the Bulldogs by throwing two scoreless innings... Threw 2.2 shutout innings to beat Cleveland State (4/23)... Won at Miller Park, defeating Milwaukee by throwing three scoreless innings of relief... Allowed two earned runs in his first 19 innings out of the bullpen... Allowed six extra-base hits in his 27.2 innings out of the bullpen.

2010 (Freshman) | Game-By-Game Stats: Made a team-high 28 appearances, 26 of which came out of the bullpen... Had a record of 1-5 with a 4.96 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 52-2/3 innings... Ranked fourth on the team in innings pitched... Was 1-1 with a 4.70 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 23 innings against league opponents... Threw a career-best seven innings in his second start against Milwaukee (5/22)... Allowed three runs on 10 hits while striking out a career-best seven in a no decision... Allowed three earned runs in three innings in his first start against Pittsburgh (4/21)... Did not allow an earned run in 12 of his appearances... Earned his victory against Butler, allowing one run on three hits while striking out three in three innings of relief (4/25)... Threw 2-1/3 scoreless innings and struck out two against UIC in the Horizon League Tournament (5/28)... Allowed two home runs in his final 27 appearances.

High School: Earned four letters and was team captain one year... Pitched on the varsity squad for the Division I Spartans all four seasons... Twice earned All-Federal League honors... Played in the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association All-Star game at Progressive Field, the home of the Cleveland Indians... Went 3-1 with a 1.40 ERA in four starts for Rondinelli Tuxedos in the Youngstown Class B league during the 2008 summer.
