Matteo Ceradelli from the Youngstown State men's tennis team was named to the Horizon League's Valeo All-Academic Team, the conference announced Thursday.
With Ceradelli's selection, the program has now had at least one student-athlete earn academic honors every year since 2021.
Ceradelli, a first-time selection, has been slotted at both the No. 1 and No. 2 positions in singles and doubles this spring, helping the team to an undefeated record in conference play.
In doubles matches, Ceradelli has teamed up with Dominik Vonbank to post a 9-6 record, including five victories on their home court.
Having already clinched the Horizon League North Division title, the Penguins will close out the regular season Friday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center against Cleveland State, with first serve set for 6 p.m.
