Long Beach, Calif. - The Youngstown State women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 72 Long Beach State at the Rhodes Tennis Center on Thursday.
For the second straight day, Sarah Partida Garcia picked up a singles win for the Penguins at No. 6. Garcia won her match 6-2, 7-5.
The Beach won in straight sets at the five other singles contests and won the two completed doubles contests. At No. 3 double, Cedeno and Garcia had a 5-3 lead when the match was clinched.
The Penguins close out the non-conference portion of their season when they play host to St. Bonaventure on March 20 and Mercyhurst on March 21 at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
