The Youngstown State women's tennis team returns to action on Friday with a contest at Toledo. First serve for the contest at the Twos Athletic Club is set for 1 p.m.
The Penguins (5-5) won two of three contests last week at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center. The Rockets are 4-4 but have won all three home matches so far this year.
YSU's Hanna Telzynska was named the Horizon League's singles player of the week following three wins at No. 1 singles. Telzynska and Yoana Dudova also went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles to earn weekly league honors as well.
The Guins dropped a 5-2 decision to the Rockets last Feb. 8 in Youngstown. The last contest in Toledo was a 6-1 defeat on Feb. 25, 2024.
Lorena Cedeno leads the Penguins in singles wins this spring with seven while Telzynska has won six contests. Dudova and Telzynska are 6-1 in doubles play.
