The No. 73 Youngstown State men's tennis team closes out a strong month of February against Niagara on Friday at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center. First serve for the contest is set for 4 p.m.
The Penguins (7-1) have won six straight matches and are 4-0 at home this season. The Purple Eagles (0-5) come to YSU in search of their first win of the campaign. YSU is 4-0 in dual contests this month.
Earlier this week, Youngstown State moved into the top 75 in the ITA Tennis rankings for the first time in program history. YSU's lone loss this season was at No. 49 Northwestern on the second day of the season. This will be YSU's first contest played as a ranked program in school history.
Also, the doubles duo of Dominik Vonbank and Matteo Ceradelli was named the Horizon League's Doubles Team of the Week.
This is the first meeting between the programs since a 5-2 YSU victory on Feb. 18, 2022. The Guins have won the last five meetings between the schools.
