The Youngstown State men's tennis team is ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) top 75 for the first time in program history.
The Penguins are ranked No. 73 in the most recent rankings, which were released on Tuesday.
YSU is off to an impressive start to the 2026 dual season, posting a 7-1 record. The Guins have won six consecutive matches since dropping a tough 4-0 decision at No. 49 Northwestern on Jan. 18.
As a group, the Penguins are 28-11 in singles play this spring while going 14-8 in completed doubles matches. Two of Youngstown State's seven wins have come after losing the doubles point.
YSU's depth has been tested early and overall eight different players have won at least twice. At No. 3-6 in the singles lineup, the Penguins are 20-6.
The Penguins are back in action on Friday when they host Niagara. First serve at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center is set for 4 p.m. The Guins head to South Carolina for three matches next week.
