The Youngstown State men's tennis team capped off a busy 20 hours with a 4-0 win over Duquesne on Saturday afternoon at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Penguins have now won six straight dual contests to improve to 7-1 on the season. Duquesne falls to 3-4 on the campaign.
In doubles, YSU won the two completed matches. At No. 2, Oscar Gipper and Rafael LeFur picked up an impressive 6-0 win. At No. 1, the point was clinched by Matteo Ceradelli and Dominik Vonbank with a 6-3Â victory.
In singles, the Guins won in straight sets at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 singles. At No. 2, Ceradelli picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win. At No. 3, Le Fur cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 victory. The clincher came at No. 6 as Takamasa Mishiro capped off the victory with a 6-2, 6-2.
In the other matches, Duquesne led at No. 1 and No. 5 singles while Gippet led 6-3, 4-3 when the match ended.
YSU returns to action next Friday when it entertains Niagara. First serve at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center is set for 4 p.m.
