The men's and women's track and field teams will send their pole vaulters to the Akron Invitational this Friday. The 22nd annual meet is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at the Stile Athletics Field House.
Athletes competing for the men are Lukas Lang and Jak Rovan while the women's competitors include Ainsley Hamsher, Melana Schumaker, Kaitlyn Eger, Gabbi Selman, Melissa Ratliff and Jaden Brambley.
The women will compete first followed by the men at the meet.
Lang is the reigning Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week and has set personal bests in each of his last two meets. Rovan ranks second to Lang on the HL performance list. Eger, Hamsher and Schumaker rank 1-2-3 in the league while Ratliff is fifth and Selman sixth.
