The Youngstown State men's tennis team takes a three-match winning streak on the road this Friday for a dual contest at Toledo. First serve at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Toledo is set for 1 p.m.
The Penguins are playing away from Youngstown for the first time since opening weekend on Jan. 17-18. The Guins picked up wins at home against LeMoyne, Carnegie Mellon and St. Bonaventure. The Rockets enter the contest with a 3-5 record, with two of three wins coming at home.
YSU has battled through some early season injuries and used a variety of lineups in its first five matches. The makeshift group has been impressive in singles posting a 19-8 overall record.
Oscar Gippet is 4-0 while Rafael Le Fur (3-0), Alex Woiten (3-1) and Malo Vernejoul (3-2) all having three victories.
YSU defeated the Rockets 5-2 last Feb. 8 at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center. The Penguins' last win at UT was on Jan. 20, 1998.
