The Youngstown State women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday afternoon at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.
The Penguins won the doubles point and were victorious in four singles contests to defeat the Crimson Hawks.
In doubles, YSU earned wins at No. 2 and No. 3. At No. 2, Hanna Telzynska and Yoana Dudova picked up a 6-2 win while at No. 3, Lydia Foster and Lorena Cedeno won by a 6-3 score.
The Penguins won in straight sets at the top four spots in the lineup. At No. 1, Telzynska won her match by a score of 6-2, 6-2. At No. 2, Yeseniia Ovcharova claimed a 6-2, 6-4 victory. At No. 3, Cedeno earned a 6-2, 6-1 win and at No. 4, Dudova collected a 6-4, 6-4 triumph.
The Crimson Hawks picked up a three-set win at No. 5 and straight set victory at No. 6.
YSU heads to Las Vegas for three matches beginning on Friday with a contest against Utah Tech.
