Hanna Telzynska and Yoana Dudova won a pair of singles matches on the first day of the Horizon League Indoor Championships and the Guins were strong in doubles collecting three victories highlighting play for the Penguins at the YSU Indoor Tennis Center.

Both advance to tomorrow's quarterfinals and will be in action on Saturday morning. In the singles back draw, Yeseniia Ovcharova picked up a three-set win to advance to the quarterfinals of that bracket.

In doubles competition, Ovcharova and Greyling teamed up a for a thrilling 8-7 (10-8) win to move onto the quarterfinals. Lydia Foster and Lorena Cedeno claimed an 8-6 win while Dudova and Telzynska capped off a successful day with an 8-6 victory.

Dudova and Telzynska will get underway on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock with a chance to advance to the semifinals. The doubles matches will be held following the conclusion of singles play.
