Householder, Christopher Honored as YSU PNC Achievers Award for Fall 2024

Youngstown State student-athletes Abbie Householder and Hunter Christopher were recognized as the winners of the YSU PNC Achievers Award at the YSU men's basketball game on Feb. 12.
The PNC Achievers Award recognizes exceptional leadership qualities on the field, in the classroom and within the community. Ted Schmidt, Regional President for PNC Bank, presented Householder and Christopher with plaques to commemorate their achievements during the 2024 fall season.
Householder is a native of Canfield, Ohio, who was one of the best players in the Horizon League in 2024 as she ranked second in the conference in both kills and points per set. Householder's 440 kills were the fourth-most in program history, and she became the fifth Penguin to eclipse 500 total points in a season. A business administration major, Householder was voted to the All-Horizon League Second Team and the All-Academic Team in 2024.
Christopher, from nearby Salem, Ohio, won his second consecutive individual Horizon League Cross Country Championship in November. He capped off a memorable season by placing 11th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. During his cross country career, he helped lead the men's team to three straight Horizon League Championships. Christopher is a two-time All-Academic Horizon League selection.
