Taylor Morrone Signs to Join YSU Women’s Golf Program

Mahoning Valley standout Taylor Morrone has signed to join the Youngstown State women's golf program for the upcoming 2024-25 season, Head Coach Nate Miklos announced on Thursday.
"Taylor is a very solid player who will provide added depth to our roster," said Miklos. "She is an even better teammate and person, and we are thrilled to welcome her to our Penguin family."
Morrone, a native of nearby Canfield, Ohio, was a three-year varsity letterwinner and two-year team captain at Canfield High School. She helped lead the Cardinals to an All-American Conference Tournament championship as a senior in 2023. Morrone was a two-time All-AAC honoree and two-time All-Northeast Ohio Honorable Mention selection. She was a district qualifier in 2023, and she was a State Golf Association Academic All-Ohio recipient.
Morrone posted a low 18-hole score of 82 and a low nine-hole score of 38. She was a three-time finalist for the Greatest Golfer of the Valley, and she was also a member of the basketball team at Canfield. Morrone is the daughter of Chris and Danielle Morrone, and she has a brother named Chris. She intends to major in nursing at Youngstown State this fall.
