
Lomax Opens U.S. Olympic Trials Action on Friday

Youngstown State triple jumper Jakari Lomax will be in action on Friday evening in the opening round of the triple jump at the U.S. Olympic Team Track and Field Trails at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
On Friday, Lomax will be in Flight 2 of two in the event which will be televised on NBC, USA Network and Peacock during the evening. The triple jump is set to begin at 9:20 p.m. Eastern time/6:20 p.m. Pacific time.
He is one of only 24 athletes in the event from throughout the United States who is vying for a spot on the U.S. Olympic roster for the Games of the XXIII Olympiad (2024 Summer Olympics) in Paris later this summer.
Lomax put up a career-best leap of 15.83m at the Miami Hurricanes Invitational on April 6 to qualify for the Trials.
He is one of 12 collegiate athletes who will be jumping. The top eight athletes from Friday's session will advance to the finals which are set for Sunday at 6:55 p.m. Eastern Time.
