Penguins Have League-High 185 Horizon League Honor Roll Selections

Youngstown State placed 185 student-athletes on the spring 2024 semester Horizon League Honor Roll, the conference announced on Thursday.
A total of 1,324 student-athletes from 16 full and affiliate member institutions and 15 Horizon League sponsored were represented.
YSU placed the most student-athletes with 185, with Milwaukee coming in second with 145, and Northern Kentucky right behind with 144 to finish third. All 11 full-membership schools had more than 80 student-athletes earn Honor Roll distinction.
Candidates for the Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify:
1) Participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season.
2) Completion of three semesters (or four quarters, where applicable) as a full-time student at the same member institution.
3) A cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale).
With 176 student-athletes on the honor roll, Women's cross country/track & field had the highest representation of the Horizon League's sports. Women's soccer and men's cross country/track & field round out the top-three, with 164 and 131 honorees, respectively.
