Women's Basketball, Men's Swimming & Diving Earn 2023-24 Horizon League Raise Your Sights Awards

Youngstown State's women's basketball and men's swimming and diving teams earned the Horizon League Raise Your Sights award at the university level for the 2023-24 academic year, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
The Raise Your Sights awards are given annually to the best sport teams academically and is based on combined grade point average (GPA) from the current academic year. The award also recognizes the top academic male and female team from each Horizon League institution. YSU's women's basketball team posted a combined GPA of 3.74 in 2023-24, and the men's swimming and diving team registered a 3.62. tennis team owns a 3.41 GPA, and the women's golf squad had an impressive 3.75 GPA.
Milwaukee's women's tennis team and Green Bay's men's golf team earned the Horizon League Raise Your Sights Award at the conference level with respective GPAs of 3.857 and 3.8.
Twelve different League sports were represented with men's golf receiving the most representation on the list with four programs, while there were three women's tennis teams recognized. Five sports - women's cross country, women's soccer, women's basketball, men's tennis and softball - had two teams earn the award.
