Penguins Sweep Horizon League Weekly Honors

The Youngstown State women's tennis team swept Under Armour #HLTennis Women's Singles and Doubles awards following big wins at Chicago State and Milwaukee over the weekend.
Julia Marko was tabbed the singles player of the week while Eliska Masarikova and Maria Oliveira were named the doubles players of the week.
Marko picked up two key wins as the Penguins posted a 2-0 record over the weekend.
In a 4-3 win over Milwaukee on Sunday, Marko earned a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. In the 5-2 victory at Chicago State on Saturday, she won 6-3, 7-6 (3) at No. 2. She improves 3-0 in Horizon League play so far this season.
On Saturday, the pair picked up the clinching win against Chicago State in YSU's 5-2 victory. At No. 1 doubles, they won 7-6 (8-6) to give the Guins the early advantage in the match.
The Penguins return home to face league-leader Northern Kentucky and IUPUI this weekend. The Sunday match against the Jaguars is Senior Day.
